Liana Lounge
Part of Rain Bank’s construction includes South Bank’s brand new Liana Lounge, a pristine green space with public art installation used for seating, situated directly above the underground Rain Bank treatment plant. The design inspiration for the Liana Lounge space came from the native Liana vines found in tropical Queensland rainforests – which surround the new space. Public seating and rest areas have been designed and installed from recycled plastic, in a twisted and abstract version of the plant. Liana Lounge and Rain Bank are situated next to South Bank’s Nepalese Pagoda, one of the last remaining remnants from World Expo 88.
