QAG / GoMA
The two-site Queensland Art Gallery is a ‘must see’ for visitors to Brisbane. The original gallery building and the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) – both architecturally acclaimed – are just 150 metres apart, within the Cultural Centre precinct at South Bank. Attracting more than one million visitors annually, the Queensland Art Gallery and GoMA precinct is one of the state’s most significant cultural treasures. The gallery’s exhibition program includes works from Australian and Indigenous Australian collections and its internationally recognised contemporary Asian and Pacific collection. An innovator in programming and audience development, the gallery welcomes visitors of all ages — with exclusive international exhibitions, night viewings and live music, acclaimed programs for children, its own cinémathèque, cafes and modern dining and sophisticated retail areas.
