Over the past 125 years, the Queensland College of Art at South Brisbane has brought together some of the finest practitioners and academics in visual art and design, introducing the world to an impressive array of Queensland talent. Producing thousands of professional artists, designers, photographers and filmmakers, the college acts as a catalyst for creative minds to go on to shape art and design culture in Queensland, Australia and internationally. Many of the programs have an industry focus and have been developed with the assistance of professional art and design bodies. The local business community supports students through scholarships, travel prizes and exhibition assistance. Many students also take up the chance to study in cities such as Los Angeles, Edinburgh or Alberta for a semester during their degree.
