Smoking Laws:

Queensland laws about smoking in public areas means that no smoking is permitted at Streets Beach or within 10 metres of any of the children’s playgrounds.

 

Consumption of Alcohol:

Consumption of alcohol in licensed premises is allowed during the hours permitted by the individual businesses permit. Patrons are allowed to consume alcohol between 10am and 8pm daily with a substantial meal, in the following areas; Riverside Green and Picnic Island Green. With millions of people visiting South Bank every year, your safety is paramount. You can following these simple rules and help make South Bank wonderful swimming areas, a safe place for all.

• No diving or jumping into the pools. 

• No running through the pools, beach and surrounds.

• Children are to be supervised by adults at all times.

• No glass receptacles are allowed into this area.

• No animals permitted into this area.

• Comply with the directions of lifeguards.

• Consider others at all times - don't throw sand or cause a disturbance to others.

• Ask lifeguards before you play ball games.

• No liquor to be consumed in this area.

• Children who are not toilet trained must wear an effective swim diaper.

• All swimmers are encouraged to take a shower before entering the pool.

• All other state and local health codes apply.

Important notes while using the pool:

• Suitable swimwear must be worn at all times. 

• The lagoon and pool is patrolled by lifeguards seven days a week. 

• The 'Lifeguards On Duty' sign will indicate the attendance of lifeguards. 

• Swimming when a lifeguard is not on duty is not encouraged and will be at the persons own risk. 

• Surfaces may be slippery when wet. 

• Rocks are slippery when wet and may be unstable. 

• Slide steps are irregular.  

Dogs are welcome at the Parklands, South Bank. 

However, we'd like you to consider our Dog Rules below:

  • Must be on a leash not more than 2 metres at all times
  • Not permitted on a beach, in fountains, shower areas or waterways
  • Not permitted in any eating areas within the Parklands
  • Must be well behaved
  • Must abide by the Brisbane City Council's Animal Local Law 2003
  • Dangerous dogs / breeds are not permitted in the Parklands
South Bank Dog Carer Rules:
  • Must be with your dog at all times
  • Must ensure that your dog is not a nuisance - you may be asked to remove your doggy from the Parklands
  • Must clean up your doggy doo immediately
  • Report any incidences to the South Bank Visitor Centre
