Julia Scodellaro was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of South Bank Corporation in July 2025, following more than two decades as an experienced urban planner, design excellence advocate, major project delivery manager and integrated precinct manager.
Before becoming CEO, Julia spent more than a decade shaping South Bank in various senior management roles at the Corporation and led the development of the Future South Bank Master Plan and oversaw the $600 million Southpoint development.
Julia’s passion for South Bank and dedication to creating a world-class precinct is unrivalled. Together with the Corporation’s team, Julia is focused on evolving South Bank’s legacy and continuing to grow the globally recognised and much-loved precinct into the future.

Andrew Betts is an experienced finance and operations executive with more than 30 years’ experience driving performance and financial integrity across large, complex organisations.
Andrew has held senior leadership roles including Chief Financial and Operations Officer John Wiley Australia and Chief Financial Officer at The University of Queensland, where he led large-scale transformation to strengthen financial sustainability and organisational performance. More recently, Andrew was Head of Finance at the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) established toconstruct the sporting venues for the Brisbane 2023 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
As Interim General Manager, Corporate Services, Andrew leads finance, IT and governance, ensuring effective operations and delivering strategic support that enables the organisation to perform at its best.

Ellie House is a highly experienced people and culture executive with more than two decades of leadership across government, financial services and tourism. She has held senior roles including as an Executive Manager, People & Culture at Brisbane City Council, where she led enterprise-wide workforce strategy and supported complex organisational transformation.
Ellie brings deep expertise in strategic workforce planning, leadership development, organisational design and inclusion, with a strong focus on aligning culture with performance outcomes.
As General Manager, People & Culture, Ellie leads the delivery of HR services, recruitment and capability initiatives, fostering a safe, inclusive and high-performing workplace at South Bank.

Ryan McDonald is a results-oriented leader with extensive experience in commercial strategy, retail management, leasing and operations. He joined South Bank Corporation in 2011 and has played a key role in driving performance across the precinct’s commercial portfolio.
Ryan brings strong expertise in property and retail management, major service contracts and precinct operations, with a focus on optimising performance and enhancing stakeholder value.
As General Manager, Commercial & Operations, Ryan oversees retail and property assets, commercial car park and precinct operations, ensuring a safe, efficient and high-quality experience for visitors.

Aysin is an award-winning lecturer and researcher with over twenty-five years of experience in the United States, Turkiye, and Australia.
Currently serving as a senior lecturer at Griffith University for over 15 years, Aysin is highly regarded for her expertise in environmental planning and governance.
Aysin’s current research focuses on climate adaptation, urban/disaster resilience, and urbanisation in subtropical areas and coastal cities.
Aysin also serves as a director on the Board of the Gold Coast Waterways Authority and member of the Global Planning Education Association Network Governing Council.
Aysin is passionate about making places we live, work, and play better while balancing the economic, social, and environmental outcomes and is an ardent advocate of values such as equity, access, inclusivity, and choice for all.
Aysin joined the Board to pursue these values and make South Bank the best that it could be.

Bruce is seasoned professional with extensive board experience.
Bruce’s diverse portfolio includes roles as a non-executive director on several Boards, including Australian Retirement Trust, Sunshine Coast Hospital & Health Service, Klarna Australia, Fijian Drua and he serves as the Chair of Queensland Trust for Nature.
Bruce is also a member of the Takeovers Panel, is an Adjunct Professor at The University of Queensland and has also authored two books on corporate governance.
Bruce has been recognised for his contributions to governance, receiving awards such as the Australian Institute of Company Directors Gold Medal and the Queensland Law Society President's Medal for services to the legal profession.

Elsa is an experienced senior leader with significant leadership, commercial, operational and logistics experience in the aviation, aerospace, tourism, education and transport industries. She has a successful record as a business leader and is committed to excellence.
With a long and successful career at Qantas, Elsa was one of the youngest CEO equivalents of a Qantas Group airline, leading one of the most profitable airlines at the time.
Currently, Elsa serves as the Chair of Aviation Australia, Chair of Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC), Chair of the Legacy (Philanthropic) Advisory for the Children’s Hospital Foundation, and a Director of ARX Aerospace and Defense in Saudi Arabia.
Elsa brings a fresh approach to marketing, tourism, placemaking, customer experience, community and key stakeholder engagement, as well as strong governance and commercial acumen to the South Bank Board.
Elsa has also held many advisory roles, including Premier of Queensland Business Advisory Council Member, Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Business Advisory Council Member, and Olympic Games QLD Fundraising Advisory Committee.

With over 24 years of experience as a consultant and executive, Fiona has worked with leaders of local, national and international organisations to help them build resilience, navigate change and thrive in an ever-evolving business environment.
As a business strategist and strategic communicator, Fiona’s expertise includes stakeholder engagement, reputation management, internal/change communication, executive coaching and leadership development.
Fiona believes that communication is the most vital currency of business and will utilise her experiences and insights to work with her fellow Board members in supporting the implementation of the Future South BankMaster Plan and the renewal opportunities it brings for South Bank.
Fiona’s industry experience spans infrastructure, government, media, transport, education, health, professional services, and non-profit sectors.

John is a long serving Queensland and Commonwealth public servant and graduated from the University of Queensland with Honours Degrees in Law and Public Administration.
After serving as a private solicitor, John joined with Queensland Department of Justice in 1984 in the Policy and Legislation Division. Subsequently he served in senior roles in the Department of Justice, Department of Consumers Affairs and Department of Emergency Services.
He served as Deputy Director General of the Department of Premier and Cabinet between 1996 and 1998. During that time, he acted as both Director-General and Co-ordinator General on a number of occasions.
As a Member and Deputy President of the National Native Title Tribunal between 2000 and 2012 he mediated, arbitrated and negotiated native title claims and litigation throughout Australia. Between 2012 and 2015he was the Director General of the Qld Dept of Justice and Attorney-General and then was Deputy President of the Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
He brings to the role of Director General of the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning many years of experience in both the private and public sectors, particularly at senior executive level.

Mike is a chartered accountant with over 30 years of experience, specialising in forensic accounting and insolvency engagements. He was a founding partner of McGrath Nicol in 2004 and served as the former risk partner of the firm.
Mike has extensive board experience and currently serves as the Chair of Foodbank Queensland.
Mike is also a non-executive director of Foodbank Australia, Artisan (the peak body for Craft and design in Queensland), and COEX Limited(the entity responsible for the Queensland Containers for Change Scheme).
Mike is thrilled to be involved with the new board of SouthBank Corporation, overseeing one of Brisbane’s favourite precincts. He looks forward to working with the other Board members as they focus on the future of South Bank and implement a range of exciting improvements in the lead up to2032.

Paul commenced as the Under Treasurer in February 2025.
Paul Williams is an experienced senior executive with more than 25 years’ experience in the banking and finance sector. He has held Board and Committee positions across funds management, hospitality, sport and the not-for-profit sector.
Most recently he was the Chief Financial Officer with People First Bank and has previously held executive roles in strategy, finance and investment with Heritage Bank as well as the Bank of Queensland.
He has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland, a Graduate Diploma Applied Finance from FINSIA, Master of Arts from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland.

Shane is an experienced leader with more than 20 years’ experience working in community engagement, reputation and corporate affairs to help organisations and communities to navigate complex projects, strengthen relationships and deliver sustainable outcomes. His work has spanned both private and public sectors, as well as a range of industries including resources, infrastructure, ports, energy and construction.
Shane is currently the owner and director of SCGroup, a leading Australian consultancy delivering property, engagement and strategic advisory solutions for the public and private sector. He also serves as a non-executive director for the Gladstone Ports Corporation and Aboriginal Development Benefits Trust.
As a corporate affairs and sustainability executive, Shane has gained expertise in stakeholder and First Nations engagement, ESG strategy, reputation and issues management, land access and government relations.
Shane believes strong engagement and transparent communication are fundamental to responsible development and long-term value creation. He brings this valuable perspective to the South Bank Corporation Board and is committed to working in partnership with other Board members to strengthen the future of South Bank in the lead up to 2032 and beyond.

Susan Forrester AM is a highly respected professional Chair and Company Director with 30 years of executive management expertise.
With a powerful blend of management, board, and consulting experience across ASX-listed, public, and private companies, Susan brings a practical and pragmatic approach to her board contributions, drawing on her background in law, finance, HR, business, and governance.
Currently serving as Non-Executive Director of Data #3 and as the Chair and Non-Executive Director of Jumbo Interactive, Susan specialises in strategy and governance within rapidly changing industries.
Susan is passionate about South Bank as a world-class destination and is dedicated to delivering the best possible vision for the next 25 years. As the 2032 Brisbane Olympics approach, Susan is committed to providing world-class experiences for locals, interstate, and international visitors.
Susan's leadership and significant contributions to business through governance and strategic roles have been recognised with her appointment as a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia.
