Whether you're slowing things right down, chasing a culture hit or planning your next food crawl, South Bank has a full-day itinerary with your name on it.
1. The Slow Day
Streets Beach → Picnic → Sunday Social vibes
Start at Streets Beach, where the only plan is to find a sunny spot and stay there. Dip in, dry off, repeat.
When hunger hits, level up your picnic game with a hamper from River Quay Fish and roll out on the River Quay Green. The $45 hamper for two comes stacked with beer battered fish and chips, a cheesy Urban Treasure supreme pizza, salad and sauces. Going bigger? The $80 option feeds four with extra fish and chips, salt and pepper calamari, pizza and all the extras. Book here.
Time it right and roll straight into Sunday Social, a weekly session of soft, smooth tunes from some of Brisbane’s best local musicians, all set against the city skyline. Head to River Quay Green every Sunday from 2pm to 5pm and settle in. It’s the kind of afternoon that starts as a picnic and somehow turns into sunset drinks, with a soundtrack to match.
2. The Culture Fix
Gallery hop → Museum stop → Theatre night
Ease into things at Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art, where you can wander between world-class exhibitions and lose track of time (in the best way). See what’s on here.
Next up, Queensland Museum for a hit of science, history and hands-on moments.
Then it’s time to dress things up slightly for a show at QPAC. Theatre, ballet, big-name musicals, whatever’s on, it’s your main character moment. Pick your show here.
3. The Food Loop
Brunch → Markets → Riverfront dinner
Start strong with brunch at Denim Co. great coffee, delish food our fave is the chick egg waffle and prime arbour views.
From there, wander through the South Bank Collective Markets. Snack as you go, buy something cute you didn’t plan on and soak up the buzz.
Finish with a long dinner back at Popolo. Delicious Italian food with a crisp wine, exactly how you want to end the day.
