A riverside Italian feast, four generous courses and a line-up of Australian wines are coming together for an indulgent evening by the river.
Perched on the river at South Bank, the Italian favourite is teaming up with Hugo Wines for a special wine dinner on Wednesday, October 21. Head Chef Francesco Vitagliano has created a four-course menu designed to be shared, with each course matched with a selection of Hugo Wines.
The evening kicks off with a generous spread of mortadella, burratina and pistachio pesto before things get a little more decadent. Next comes Moreton Bay bug linguine with lobster bisque, followed by gnocchi Sorrentino, because no Italian feast would be complete without a little pasta.
For the main event, expect char-grilled lamb cutlets alongside Wagyu rump tagliata, served with roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes. Dessert keeps things decidedly Italian, with bigné and sfogliatelle rounding out the four-course feast.
On the wine front, Hugo Wines will take guests through a selection spanning sparkling Chardonnay and Pinot Noir through to Shiraz, Cabernet and Reserve Shiraz, with each pour chosen to complement the dishes on the menu.
It’s the kind of dinner that calls for arriving hungry, settling in by the river and letting someone else take care of the food and wine for the evening. And at $120 per person, it’s a pretty good excuse to turn an ordinary Wednesday into something worth lingering over.
