When Hollywood comes to Brisbane, apparently it heads straight for OTTO.
Last weekend, South Bank’s riverside Italian favourite played host to an A-list lineup including Kevin Costner, Jake Gyllenhaall, Rita Ora, Sarah Pidgeon and Shaggy, turning an already-buzzing dining room into one of the city’s hottest reservations overnight. While the restaurant is keeping understandably tight-lipped on exactly what landed on the table, a menu this good makes speculation half the fun.
From indulgent seafood dishes to impeccably plated starters that practically demand a photo before the first bite, these are the OTTO orders we’re fairly certain would have made an appearance.

Steamed Zucchini Flowers
Filled with lobster mousse and finished with a velvety Prosecco sauce, this is classic OTTO. Elegant without trying too hard and rich in exactly the right places.
Scallops Crudo
Delicate scallops paired with brown butter and macadamia deliver the kind of balance OTTO has built its reputation on. Fresh, refined and unmistakably Queensland.
Cannoli Prawn Cocktail
A clever reworking of the retro classic, this dish walks the line between playful and polished. Crisp cannoli shells packed with creamy prawn cocktail filling make this one impossible to ignore.
Smoked Stracciatella And Beetroot Tart
Part art piece, part starter, this combination of smoked stracciatella, beetroot, pomegranate and pistachio brings freshness, richness and crunch to every bite.
Tajima Wagyu Beef Carpaccio
Thin slices of Tajima Wagyu finished with truffle dressing, aioli, capers, Parmigiano-Reggiano and rocket feels like the sort of understated luxury a celebrity table naturally gravitates towards.
Champagne Lobster Spaghettini
If there’s one dish on the menu that screams special occasion dining, it’s this. Champagne lobster folded through delicate spaghettini with garlic, chilli, white wine, lemon butter and bottarga is unapologetically indulgent from the first twirl.
Whether these dishes officially made the cut or not, OTTO’s menu continues to prove why it remains one of Brisbane’s most coveted dining rooms. Celebrity-approved or otherwise, this is exactly the kind of long lunch or dinner worth booking immediately here.
