Free Fitness Classes Are Back At South Bank

Running from 10 Oct to 28 Nov

Need a little more motivation to move this spring? South Bank’s Feel Good Program is bringing seven weeks of free fitness classes to Flowstate, with plenty of ways to get your body moving without having to commit to a gym membership.

‍

Running from 10 October to 28 November, the program has your weekday evenings and Saturday mornings covered, with a mix of Zumba, Pilates, Body Balance, Yoga and Friday Dance Club on the schedule. Pick your favourite, try something new or make a habit of showing up each week.

‍

Zumba
For those who prefer their workouts with a side of fun, Zumba is the one. Led by expert instructors from supporting partner Goodlife Health Clubs, these dance cardio sessions bring together Latin music, upbeat rhythms and easy-to-follow moves. No dance experience required, just bring your sneakers, water bottle and towel and prepare to work up a sweat.

Zumba runs Mondays at 5:30pm and Saturdays at 9:30am.

‍

Pilates
Prefer to take things down a notch? Pilates is all about controlled movement, with a focus on your core, stability, balance and flexibility. Expect slow, considered movements that work those deep stabilising muscles without leaving you feeling like you’ve been run through a boot camp.

Bring a mat, water bottle and towel. Pilates runs Tuesdays at 5:30pm and Saturdays at 8:30am.

‍

Body Balance
When you want a workout that feels a little more restorative, there’s Body Balance. The yoga-based class brings together elements of Tai Chi and Pilates, moving through stretches and poses set to music. It’s a lower-intensity option focused on flexibility, balance and core strength, with a chance to slow down while still getting your body moving.

Bring a mat, water bottle and towel. Classes run Wednesdays at 5:30pm.

‍

Yoga
Saturday mornings are made for a little reset, and Yoga is a pretty good place to start. The low-impact class works through stretches, postures and poses designed to build strength and flexibility while easing tension. It’s suitable for all levels, so whether you’re a regular yogi or can barely touch your toes, you can jump in.

Classes run Saturdays at 7:30am. Just bring yourself and a yoga mat.

‍

Friday Dance Club
And because Friday deserves a little fun, there’s Friday Dance Club, presented by Bring a Plate Dance. Every week brings a different dance style from around the world, with Hip Hop, Bollywood, Kuthu, Pizzica, Jazz and Reggaeton all on the program.

No experience is required, so come along, learn some new moves and see what you can pick up. Bring a water bottle, comfortable clothes and shoes you can move in.
