Spanning the Village Green, South Bank Town Hall and the iconic Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent, Festival Village is where you can start your day, meet friends before a show or stick around long after the sun goes down. Here are some of the highlights to add to your festival itinerary.

Bright Nights by ANZ
4 – 26 September

When the sun goes down, the Brisbane River becomes the stage for Bright Nights by ANZ. Expect towering water jets, floating fountains, lasers and an exclusive soundtrack by Brisbane favourites The Veronicas, creating a spectacular free show across the river. With three shows each night throughout the festival, it’s an easy addition to any night out in South Bank. Find out more here.

Daybreaker
12 September
Forget the morning coffee run. DAYBREAKER is bringing its global alcohol free dance and wellness party to Brisbane, combining yoga, fitness, DJ sets and high energy dancing for a very different way to start the day. Come for the movement, stay for the community and expect plenty of good vibes along the way. Coffee over cocktails, dancing before dinner and a morning that feels anything but ordinary. Sunrise Ceremony: Bikki Wantimaa
11, 18 & 25 September

Start the day with a moment of connection at the Sunrise Ceremony: Bikki Wantimaa. Held each Friday morning, the ceremony acknowledges and gives thanks to the lands on which Brisbane Festival takes place, honouring First Nations peoples who have witnessed the sunrise on these lands for thousands of years. The Choir of Man
3 – 26 September

Part pub, part concert and entirely entertaining, The Choir of Man brings nine performers, a working bar on stage and a soundtrack packed with crowd favourites to Festival Village. Expect powerhouse vocals, live music and plenty of feel good energy across 75 minutes, with songs from artists including Queen, Adele, Sia, Paul Simon and Guns N’ Roses. Book here.

Are You Lonesome Tonight
9 – 12 September

Country music meets opera in this unexpected production from Opera Queensland. Are You Lonesome Tonight blends the works of Puccini and Verdi with songs from Dolly Parton, Slim Dusty and Troy Cassar-Daly, bringing two seemingly different musical worlds together for an uplifting night of live performance. This Show Is a Joke!
20 – 26 September

Bring the whole family along for a seriously silly hour with The Listies. This laugh out loud variety show combines slapstick, sketch comedy, songs and audience participation, promising plenty of brilliantly ridiculous moments for everyone from four to forty. Book here.
