Not in Melbourne? South Bank Brings the AO to You

Game on, Brisbane

Game on, Brisbane. AO by the River is about to take over South Bank and it is shaping up to be the hottest summer hangout of the season.

Opening this Friday 23 January to 1 February, South Bank’s River Quay becomes Brisbane’s official Australian Open Live Site, bringing big match moments, pop up courts and sunset spritz sessions right to the river. Think live tennis on the big screen, drinks in hand, the city skyline glowing and a crowd that is fully in finals mode from day one.

Watch All The AO Action Unfold

Lock in a riverside spot and catch the Australian Open live on the big screen, including Channel 9’s finals coverage. It is loud, lively and exactly how summer tennis should be watched, with a crowd that is just as invested as the players on court.

Test Your Skills and Have A Hit

Feeling inspired after a few epic rallies? Step straight into the action with Pop Tennis and Pickleball courts ready for you to jump on between matches. It is social, fast paced and fun, even if you are only in it for bragging rights.

Game, Set, Spritz At Sunset Spritz Club

When it’s time to refuel, the Sunset Spritz Club by Aperol and Popolo is calling. Aperol Spritz is front and centre because tennis and Aperol are the perfect match, joined by beer, wine and Italian-style bites made for sharing. The menu is stacked, with Sorrentina pasta bites, risotto bites, eggplant parmigiana bites, truffle and parmesan fries and a generous antipasto box loaded with salami, Serrano ham, olives, soft cheese and lavosh.

Opening Weekend Perks

Opening weekend is going big. On Saturday 24 January, keep an eye out for surprise appearances from Channel 9 stars who will be dropping by to hit the Pop Tennis courts and soak up the vibes.

Running until Sunday 1 February 2026, AO by the River is your summer game plan for watching world class tennis, getting amongst the action and settling in for a spritz or three by the river. Opening this week and absolutely worth a spot in your calendar. Add it in here.
