Your GOMA Gallery Date, Sorted

Explore the exhibit, then dine

Planning a date at the Gallery of Modern Art? Build your day around the immersive world of Olafur Eliasson, where art is something you move through, not just look at. From rocky, otherworldly landscapes to mind-bending optical illusions and large-scale installations, this is a gallery experience made for wandering, exploring and getting a little lost together.

Once you have taken it all in, South Bank’s dining scene is right at your fingertips, with plenty of spots to match your date vibe.

Poca Madre
Poca Madre’s birria quesataco and margaritas are the ultimate combo and guaranteed to level up your exhibit date. Slow-cooked brisket, rich bone broth and deep, comforting flavours set you up perfectly before or after immersing yourself in the exhibition.

Baba Ganouj
Baba Ganouj is serving up the goods with its new weekday lunch specials, dishing up authentic Lebanese eats from just $17. Running Wednesday to Friday from 11am to 3pm, the menu is packed with flavour-filled wraps and signature plates. Each week, Head Chef Sayed brings fresh inspiration with rotating specials showcasing tender kebabs, spiced rice dishes and the very best of traditional Lebanese flavour.

C’est Du Gateau
Add a little je ne sais quoi to your gallery date with a pastry in hand or a savoury sandwich. It is an easy, elegant stop for freshly baked treats that work just as well as a quick pre-gallery bite or a sweet pause after exploring.

Tai Tai
Tai Tai is all about fast and fabulous feasting. Load up on pork belly bao, sweet and sour barramundi and their legendary deep fried ice cream. Think bold flavours, share plates and a playful vibe that keeps the date fun and energetic.

Ole
Start with a Tinto Classic red sangria, then settle in for a signature paella. The pollo is a standout, packed with chicken, semi-curado chorizo, mushrooms, green peas, cherry tomato, pimientos and saffron rice. It is made for sharing and perfect for stretching your gallery visit into a long, leisurely lunch.

Poppies
The snow crab linguine is the hero here, combining sweet snow crab meat with garlic and chilli emulsion, white wine and silky linguine. It is indulgent without being too heavy, making it an ideal way to round out a gallery-filled day.
